1895: Born in Shizuoka, Japan
1945: Started working on well known katazome
calenders.
1956: Designated as Living National Treasure
from Japanese government for his katazome
stencil technique.
1957: Started producing "nuno moji" (cloth letters)
to create designs out of Japanese characters.
1976: Exhibited at National Grand Palais Museum,
France
1979: Exhibited at Mingei International Museum,
CA
1984: Died at age of 88
1997: Exhibited at Municipal Museum, CA
2001: Exhibited at Royal Museum of Scotland.
